day 31 - "new in town"

"New in Town" - Highly Recommended.

day 30 - evidence of Iowa weather

As of Friday there was still evidence that it was COLD!!! This is a view from my living room - just makes me cold looking at it.

Since I am writing this late on Saturday, and we had great warm temps (40s - heat wave here in Iowa) these icicles are GONE!!! with alot of the SNOW!

day 29 - plan started {finally}

Shellie B and I had Thursday off and we started our Project 365 albums!!! After a few successes and errors, and ALOT of laughts, we have a plan.... We can hardly wait for the new Fancy Pants line to come into Memory Bound!!!!

day 28 - game plan in place

I have thought, rethought, OVERthought my whole way of wanting to document my pictures in an album. I have surfed, I have shopped and I have surfed some more. I think I have finally come up with a game plan and tomorrow my cousin is coming to my house and we are going to start. YAHOO...its going to be what it is and now I can hopefully relax and just enjoy the process now. Whew.

Wednesday, January 28

day 27 - FPU

I am attending FPU at my church with a good friend and about 160 other people. I'm in week three. So far so good...

day 26 - hi honey I'm home

I have my outside decorations down and stored in my garage. Every time I drive in to my garage I am greeted by this little silly man. No matter what kind of day I have had, as I drive into my garage and see him "waving" at me, it just cracks me up (okay MOST days).

Monday, January 26

day 25 - my apprentice

I have an apprentice...no not really. But I have a very creative nephew who likes working on computers, creating. Watch out Bill Gates! There's a new kid in town.

day 24 - MB is a happy place!

I was at MB today - could it possibly be one of the "bestest" places ever? I would have to say yes. Where can you go to find paper, embellishments, books, magazines and of course the greatest staff ever?

day 23 - luv to scrap

Shellie B (aka my cuz) and I went scrappin' tonight. What a blast. We laughed and as she put it drooled over some really cool stuff. I have been absolutely stressing over my Project 365 album and how I am going to organize my pictures. Shellie B thinks I need medication or hospitalized for it - but that's a whole other post. In the end we found some great paper and journaling cards and we are both excited to start putting it together. I'm sure she is even more excited because there won't be any "idea" messages of "what do YOU think"? So we had some laughs, purchased our paper, actually got some pages done and spent some quality cousin time together. Now we just need to get our next weekend planned to scrap our hearts out! And yes, I'll bring the Hot Tamales!

day 22 - I really, really, really don't like computers

I really don't, which is bad because I work on them 40 hours a week. And then I have to admit later on in the evening when I get home from work I sign on to read my favorite blogs, add my entry to my blog and email.

Last night I had a meltdown. I was trying to do some "fancy" work for my blog and my Project 365 pictures and I COULD NOT get it to work. Grrr. I was very frustrated and finally just gave up, which was hard because I really wanted to get what I was working on done.

I sent a desperate SOS to my cousin, hoping she would be on to help me but for some reason she was in bed around midnight but got a chuckle Friday morning reading her message...okay messages, of my pure frustration in Photoshop.

I often wonder what we did with out them and if I could walk away from mine. I think I might know the answer as here I am at 1:18 in the morning updating my blog because I am several days behind. Agh....

day 21 - Nie is back!

I have several blogs I follow and I'm so excited that Nie is back!!! I have been following two blogs regarding Stephanie (NieNie), and her sister (Cjane). Stephanie writes about her loving family, how much fun she has being a mom and about her husband, Mr. Nielsen. Her recent thoughts are about surviving a plane crash she was in during the summer. The pilot passed away and now her and her husband are recovering from near fatal injuries. Her blog is inspiring...and makes you appreciate all you have in life...family and friends. It makes me smile and it makes me cry. Check it out sometime, especially when you are having a really bad day. It makes me appreciate what I have despite the circumstances I might be in. You rock NieNie!!! My continued prayers to you and Mr. Nielsen.

day 20 - Inauguration Day 2009

What a day, what a day indeed. History in the making.
God Bless the exiting First Family.
God Bless the new First Family.
God Bless America.

Monday, January 19

day 19 - no more white stuff

Snow, snow, snow. This is one snow bank right outside of my home...hard to forget it's winter in Iowa when you have that right outside. Bring on spring....

Sunday, January 18

day 18 - rascal flatts and friendship

My friend "L" won tickets to the Rascal Flatts concert and invited me to go along. I think she is trying to make me a country fan yet!!!! It was a good concert, and the stage was incredible. It was fun, had a great time and another memory to put in our concert memory book.

day 17 - From Egypt and Back Again

My friend Denise is home for a quick visit. Our small Hope group got together with Denise home this week. She is a missionary for three years in Cairo...she has 6 months down. It was great hearing about her adventures, the culture and to be able to get together and laugh. The morning was wonderful seeing everyone and especially seeing our friend Denise. Blessings.

Friday, January 16

day 16 - eggs over easy

I know - not an "egg-citing" post (and on top of it a bad pun with it). I hope some of my future pictures are a tad bit more interesting than this one but its COLD outside so I need to try to find something fun and creative inside. It's going to be a long few weeks if this is the case but enjoy anyway.

And the eggs....mmmmm, they were good!

Thursday, January 15

day 15 - baby its cold outside

It is COLD, COLD, COLD!!!! I can't even believe how cold it is but I was bundled up heading to the car... (Mom and Dad - I actually had my hood up as well!!!). Stay warm!

Wednesday, January 14

day 14 - American Idol is Back

I admit it. I like watching American Idol... I like the first several weeks so I can watch those that really think they can sing...I mean really??? Do you REALLY think you sound good? I probably would be like Simon, well maybe not that mean, but I don't know how you can not laugh, especially the ones that can't sing and then "dress" up for it. I mean really, seriously??? And then I catch it towards the end when its down to about 6 - 8. There you have it - I'm a part-time American Idol fan.

Tuesday, January 13

day 13 - the sites I see...from my window...

This is the view from my window at work. It is so much prettier in the spring, summer and fall...winter however, well, its SNOW. And I have to admit I'm getting kind of tired of the white stuff and its only January. Why do I live in Iowa?

Anyhoo, since this blog is for my life for 365 days...I'm sure you will see some other pictures from different seasons unless I lose my room with the view!

Have a great Wednesday....I think we are either going to get more SNOW or more COLD. Oh boy I'm sooooo looking forward to either.

Monday, January 12

day 12 - is there anything better than a stack of NEW pictures

I think not!!!

day 11 - grandma b and the love of dolls

I haven't actually wrote anything with my daily pictures but this one warranted some journaling. I was thinking of my Grandma this weekend. I had wonderful grandmas who were strong, smart, kind, loving. Each of them blessed me with so many things.

The doll posted was a gift from my Grandma B. She loved dolls and that's probably one of the reasons I have loved them all my life as well. The one shown here was one she gave me in 1989...yes I was in my early 20s. It was for a special moment in my life and I will treasure this doll forever. The outfit is getting old but I just can't seem to take it off and replace it since it was the one she dressed the doll with. This little one definitely holds a special place in my life.

Thanks Grandma B.
